Abi - Representative

Abi joined Avon because she didn’t feel appreciated in her previous job. Various health problems meant that she struggled with different aspects of everyday life. The flexibility of the Avon opportunity appealed to Abi because she could work around the barriers she used to face with her mental health.

Since joining Avon, Abi has enjoyed more time to herself, with the business helping to support the costs of getting married and holidays. She has also enjoyed lots of opportunities to attend exciting events and meetings, with most recently featuring in the brochure.

Avon has given Abi the confidence to find herself. Before, she couldn’t talk to her family on the phone, now she is regularly hosting video calls with new Representatives and team members!

Q1. What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

I love being a Rep because working for myself means I can manage my time and workload to suit my needs. Having Avon there to help manage my business means I’ve always got lots of support and I’m never alone.

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

Go for it. Being a Representative has opened so many doors for me, besides it’s also been so much fun. You’ve got nothing to lose by becoming a Rep, and you may find a whole new you by becoming your own boss.

Q3 How does Avon work around your lifestyle?

I recently got married and could take a whole two week break by planning my time around my holiday. In terms of everyday lifestyle, my wife works weekdays and I spend the day working on my business. Then one evening a week, we drop off brochures and deliver orders. We take weekends off for us time.

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

My current favourite is the Anew Cleansing Balm. Not only does it smell divine, it also melts away make up and leaves my skin feeling soft and radiant.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep?

Take every opportunity to learn and develop your business, always keep going.

Krishma Tailor

Amie - Rep

Quote: “Running my own Avon business is the best thing I have ever done. I’ve met so many friends from being an Avon Rep.”

Amie was pregnant with her eldest son when she embarked upon her new business. She wasn’t able to continue with her job full time but needed to make up the shortfall in her wages. Her aunt was an Avon Lady when she was a little girl, which inspired Amie to follow in her footsteps and try the business out herself. Nine years later, she has achieved PC status.

Amie made bronze PC four years ago, two years ago she made bronze plus and this year she is on course to make silver. This was a huge achievement for Amie and her confidence continues to grow year on year.

Amie is determined to end the year as a fully-fledged sales leader!

Q1. What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

I’m still learning to be a sales leader, but I’m looking forward to having a team I can train and inspire. I love everything Avon and hope to pass on my enthusiasm to others. 

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

Do it. It’s the best thing I ever done. I’ve met so many new friends from being an Avon Rep and learnt so much. I’m able to work it around my job and family life, have fun and try new products before anyone else. 

Q3 How does Avon work around your lifestyle?

Avon fits in so well around my life. I work part time as a flight attendant and have two children. If I’m away with work I can still log on and ‘work’ if I want too, with social media now I can find new customers at home wherever I am in the world. I am always able to attend my boys’ activities at school and if they are poorly I can work around them, without having to worry about losing ‘wages’. 

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

I love the Reversalist Day Cream and the Mushroom face mask.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep? 

Be consistent and persistent. It will take a while to build up a good customer base, but the hard work will be worth it in the end. Have confidence in yourself, set yourself mini goals and celebrate your successes. I would also recommend the training courses, I found the Anew training invaluable. 


Beverly Smeaton

Carla Western - Rep

Carla was driven to join Avon through her passion for the products. Having always ordered from Avon, she wanted to shout about something she felt excited to share with her family and friends.

A personal goal for Carla is to be able to cut down on some of her cleaning hours to spend time with her little girl. One of the things Carla loves about Avon is how people always ask what lipstick or perfume she’s wearing.

Carla believes that it’s so easy to sell Avon whilst doing your everyday tasks, even whilst having a conversation, you can drop in about a product or offer someone a brochure.

Q1. What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

I love being an Avon Rep because it has helped me gain so much confidence, I love meeting new people and introducing our company and products to potential customers, who are just as excited to see our brochure as I am to show them. Avon has helped me believe in myself and realise that I can succeed.

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

If anyone is thinking of joining I would say do it. I wish I had taken the leap sooner. I spend a couple of hours every other night doing something I enjoy, advertising the amazing products on social media. The time I would have spent just scrolling through social media, at least this way I’m earning money too. I couldn’t believe how quickly I started getting orders!

Q3 How does Avon work around your lifestyle?

Avon is so easy to work around my lifestyle, I am a self-employed cleaner and my schedule is constantly changing, with Avon you can choose when you deliver your brochures, you can set your delivery dates and you decide when to pick up your phone.

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

I joined Avon because I genuinely love the products. I have always ordered from Avon and so have my family. It’s so lovely to be able to sell products you are passionate about.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep? 

My top tip to any new sales Rep is to spread the word! I have found this the best way to gain loyal customers. Talk to your family and friends, work colleagues, mums at the school. Show off your favourite products in your day to day life on social media.


BEVERLY SMEATON -  GOLD PC REP

Beverly Smeaton - Gold PC Rep

Beverly Smeaton has always loved Avon products but didn't know much about running her own beauty business. Putting that aside, she took the leap of faith and went for it – she hasn’t looked back since.

Working Avon part-time around her PA job means she can afford to have a holiday every year and the odd weekend away as well. Beverly has that financial freedom that she’s always wanted. Suffering from anxiety at times, she pushes herself to leave the house to go out to drop off her Avon brochures. Avon gives Beverly a purpose to go out and meet with her customers who she considers to be her friends now too.

Beverly believes that Avon is suitable for everyone - you work your beauty business around your own lifestyle, whether that is another job or family life.

Q.1 What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

The best thing is meeting lots of new people – from customers to other Reps and the chance to get my hands on new products before anyone else!

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

Just do it and take that leap. Be prepared to put in the work because consistency is key to any successful business.

Q.3 How does Avon work around your job?

You need to be organised. I work 9-5 Monday to Friday as a PA, so my deliveries are evenings and Saturdays. I make sure I have a list of customers details and they know they can message me at any time.

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

Soo many to choose from! I love Little Black Dress perfume.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep?

My top tip is be persistent, don't give up. It takes time for new customers to trust that you will keep coming back and that you’re reliable. If you’re passionate about what you’re doing just keep going and you’ll succeed.


KRISHMA TAILOR - SENIOR COORDINATOR

Krishma Tailor - Senior Coordinator

Quote: “My business helped me to fund my wedding and now it also contributes towards holidays and birthday parties for my children.”

Four years ago, Krishma Tailor saw the Avon opportunity and the idea of selling beauty products caught her eye. She wanted a flexible side hustle that worked around her lifestyle and extra money to spend on her children. Working part time as a Peoples Service Advisor, taking on extra hours wasn’t an option because she had to consider childcare costs.

As well as enjoying working Avon part-time around her job, the extra income has meant that Krishma can treat herself and her children. Krishma Tailor looks back at a time before Avon when she wanted to buy her two girls a big wooden play kitchen for Christmas, but she knew that her budget wouldn’t stretch. Those days are over for Krishma, thanks to Avon.

Avon has introduced Krishma to some great friends, she doesn’t just see Avon as an extra source of income, it’s also a hobby.

Q.1 What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

It’s the flexibility it offers me around my busy life. Being a mother of three, having a part-time job and a husband who travels a lot, I can pick up working on my Avon around this.

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

I would always say give it a try. I have grown to love it, not only because of the financial reward, but the people I have met, my ever-expanding customer base and the fantastic products I get to use. I have been able to make it my own, and with that I have built my own brand.

Q.3 How does Avon work around your job?

It fits in nicely around my job as a People Services Advisor as I don’t have to worry about organising childcare and scheduling time as Avon fits around my lifestyle and schedule.  I use one or two of my evenings to do Avon and being part time enables me to spend one day a week going out with my little boy to collect and deliver brochures.

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

It would have to be Mauve Matters matte lipstick. It is an amazing colour and love the fact I do not have to re-apply.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep?

My top tip would have to be always carry a brochure with you, you never know when you may bump into a potential new customer! If my handbag is too small I always have matte lipstick samples.


LEANNE MEASSURES - LEADER

Leanne Meassures - Leader

Leanne Meassures joined Avon when her son was a baby. Passionate about starting a new hobby alongside raising her son, Leanne also wanted an extra income. Avon started off as a hobby and now she’s working it as her own beauty business, with recently receiving an award for one of the top sales leaders in the country.

Avon has given Leanne the freedom she needs which works perfectly alongside her job as a school dinner lady. She also cares a couple of days a week for her mum. Avon allows Leanne to spend that time with her mum because she can work any time of day.

Leanne is passionate about having goals, and this year she is focused on keeping her team motivated. She also wants to reach Presidents Club and to continue expanding her team.

Q.1 What do you love about being a Rep/what’s the best thing?

I love the freedom I have to do what I want! Running my own business means I have the flexibility to spend time with the kids. I never miss a school play and if I’m not feeling well I can take a day off. I get to work my business my way.

Q2. What would you say to anyone thinking of joining?

Do it now. Don’t hesitate. I wish I had started sooner. I feel like I have wasted time. Dive straight in. Don’t have any fear. Just do it.

Q.3 How does Avon work around your job?

It works well with my job as a dinner lady. I spend an hour and half at the school and then I’ll do Avon straight after. I’m hoping to eventually go full time with my Avon business soon.

Q.4 What’s your fave product?

I love the mark. Eye brow tattoo pen.

Q.5 Top tip to a new Rep?

Start off with small goals and write them all down. Each week make those goals a little bit bigger. Hold yourself accountable. I got chucked in headfirst when I joined, but it was the best thing I could have done. My confidence suddenly grew, and I think that’s because I went straight into sales leadership.
