Women with round faces go for long earrings that help to give it a slimmer appearance. Larger, angular earrings can also work to lengthen the features.

They are also advised to go for bold and dark make-up around the cheeks to create facial contours.

Round-faced ladies should also darken their eyebrows and use bright, rich colours on their lips.

Those with heart-shaped features are advised to choose inverted triangles and teardrops to complement the angles of the face, while highlighting the temples with make-up to broaden the forehead.

A rectangular face requires fashion accessories that add width, so stud earrings and round hoops often work well.

Meanwhile, image consultant Julia Cumming, writing for the Buckinghamshire Advertiser recently, said that fashion accessories are the key to updating a summer wardrobe.
