   Updo among celebrity looks at Oscars
   
 

The updo continued to be a favourite among the celebrity looks of choice at the Oscars last night.

Kate Winslet, Freida Pinto and Natalie Portman all opted for the style, while Angelina Jolie went for the half-up and half-down look.

The ladies took slightly different approaches to the do, with Kate going for a flawless 40s tucked-under version.

Freida's hair was tended to by celebrity stylist Jeffrey Paul who weaved her dark locks into a low updo.

"This look has a beautiful architecture; hair is twisted back into a youthful, feminine flower shape that complements Frieda's face shape and stunning Galliano gown," said Mr Paul.

Meanwhile Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica-Parker were among the few who opted for completely loose styles.

On a successful night for British talent, Kate took home the best actress Oscar for the Reader while Danny Boyle won best director for Slumdog Millionaire, which swept the board with eight Academy Awards including best film.
