Fake tan products are the ideal alternative for pale-skinned ladies who want to look bronzed without exposing themselves to the dangers of the sun, according to an expert.Rebecca Freeman, spokeswomen for the British Association of Dermatologists, said that self tanning formulas are "safe for your skin, effective and easy to use".She advises women to avoid sunbeds altogether when it comes to getting bronzed as they can cause sunburn, soreness, blistering and peeling in the short term.Over longer periods they can do even more damage, with skin cancer the most significant risk, Ms Freeman adds.Using sunbeds before the age of 35 can increase the risk of melanoma by 75 per cent, according to a review by the International Agency for Research on Cancer."If you're naturally pale-skinned and desperate to look bronzed, it is best to fake it," she insists.Meanwhile, singing sensation Pixie Lott recent revealed to InStyle magazine that she loves to have bronzed skin and achieves the look with fake tan products.(c) 2008 Adfero Ltd.
