It seems the latest trends in fashion accessories will continue to emerge from London, as one expert maintains that it is the style capital of the world.

Sairey Stemp, fashion editor at Cosmopolitan, says: "The thing is despite the recession, London is still thriving."

Her comments follow the release of a survey by Clothes Show London, in which respondents voted the capital Britain's most stylish city.

However, there may be lots of new designs coming out of Birmingham, as those questioned thought it was the city most open to new looks and styles.

Ms Stemp says that the strength of London as a fashion capital is its diversity.

"There is designer level, there is high street level and it appeals to lots of different age groups as well, there's different nationalities," she explains.

Ms Stemp adds that there are lots of designers coming back to catwalks in London to show their latest collections and fashion accessories.
