Last weekend's American Music Awards was a who's who of pop royalty and the fashionable Leona Lewis was on hand to show them how it is done.

Wearing a neutral colour Jenny Packham dress, the pop princess arrived on the red carpet looking every bit the star she is.

Finished off with metallic accessories, the chart-topper won widespread praise from onlookers.

With natural makeup and loosely curled hair, Leona proved that less really is more this season.

And it didn't end there. Setting off for the after show party, the 23-year-old wore a black flapper-esque frock, finished off with diamante embellishments.

It was a good weekend all round for Leona, who topped the UK album chart for the second time with Spirit.

Originally released in November 2007, Leona's debut fought off tough competition from Dido with her latest offering, Safe Journey Home.

Girl power really was in force as Beyonce took the top spot in the singles chart with If I Were a Boy, knocking off the X Factor finalists from the prime position.
