There has been a flurry of activity in terms of the latest make-up shades to hit the catwalk and red carpet recently, and when it comes to nails, it's all about being "brazen, brash and bold".

According to ASOS, while the current top shades are taupe and pale colours which emphasise your tanning escapades, prepare yourself for a much wilder winter as the shades for next season are totally different.

"Shades ... verge on shocking with taupe, teal, violet and cobalt popping up," the magazine asserts.

"Anything goes – as long as it shows off, like the NALG (Not A Lot Going On) look."

So for this look, invest in some bright nails and leave the rest of your makeup simple and delicate, ensuring the emphasis is on the nails and your perfectly manicured hands.

When it comes to makeup however, a couple of the top looks at the moment include the traditional smoky eye with blanked out lips or full-bodied red lips with no makeup elsewhere.
