Women may want to get their hands on the latest fashion accessories for their hair, as hippy chic is set to return as a major trend this summer, according to an expert.

Alison Dace, creative education manager and top session stylist at high street salon group Saks, said that head bands and oversized bows will dominate the shops.

She commented: "You can almost wear these accessories like hats they're that big!"

Celebrity looks will also be influential in this trend, with the likes of Sienna Miller and Heidi Klum accessorising with braids, according to Ms Dace.

"Head bands are also everywhere at the moment - Elle Macpherson, Ashlee Simpson and Mischa Barton have been snapped donning them, to name but a few," she added.

Meanwhile, Toni&Guy's summer trends report predicted that hairstyles will move towards being more relaxed, effortless and naturally beautiful, replacing the harsh and graphic silhouettes we have seen previously.
