Beauty trends filter down from the catwalk to the high street via celebrities, as ordinary folk tend to look to what the stars are doing with hair and make-up for inspiration, according to an expert.Nicole Phelps, executive director of Style.com, tells the Miami Herald that she does not believe the public looks to the catwalk to identify make-up, hair and beauty trends."But the people doing hair and makeup on the runways are doing hair and makeup for celebrities, and the public does pay attention to that," she says.Ms Phelps tells the news provider that coral lipstick is a great example of this process. The colour was a catwalk trend in the spring and now has become one of the key celebrity looks and so has transferred into the public imagination.Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel and Strictly Come Dancing ace and model Jodie Kidd are among the stars to have stepped out sporting coral pouts recently.(c) 2008 Adfero Ltd.
