Top number crunching totty Carol Vorderman has filmed her final scenes for Countdown.Bowing-out after 26 years in the job, she bid a tearful farewell to viewers and host Des O'Connor.She said: "I'm a lucky old bird to be adding up for 26 years. We had a lot of laughs." The show's bosses also thanked the 47-year-old for her contribution to the show."I can't believe how kind everyone has been and how many people have been in touch," she added.Her son and daughter were in the audience for her final show, as were celebrity guests including Barry Norman, Gyles Brandreth and Keith Barron.Des will also be leaving the show - he is the second presenter of Countdown since Richard Whiteley died three years ago.Carol was the first woman ever to appear on Channel 4.A graduate of Cambridge University, Carol studied engineering and spent most of her youth in Leeds.(c) 2007 Adfero Ltd.
