Women need to think big when it comes to fashion accessories, as it's all about statement pieces for this season's jewellery, according to experts.

The huge ring is a particular trend at the moment, with Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty recently being spotted wearing a large, heart-shaped dazzler on her finger.

Fashionista Rajiv Arora, who has recently designed rings for Hollywood star Halle Berry, tells the Times of India: "For a woman, it's the visibility of the jewellery that matters, be it in a ring or a neckpiece."

She says that emerald and ruby rings are good for making a statement and when it comes to metals, stick to white gold and silver.

Meanwhile, designer Rajiv Arora tells the news provider that blue topaz and different shades of tourmaline are stylish at the moment.

Session stylist and salon coiffeur Adam Reed recently told the Daily Telegraph that women are using statement hair as one of their fashion accessories as clothing becomes more simple and toned down.
