Women are becoming 'fashion stalkers' in order to stay on trend and get the look at a lower price, according to an expert.Shelly Vella, fashion director at Cosmopolitan, says that people are thinking carefully before they splash out on clothes, rather than making impulse purchases."I call them 'fashion stalkers'; women who know what they want but they are prepared to wait it out a little bit, so if there is something they want like a designer bag or shoes they will stalk it in the sale and judge it that way," states Ms Vella. She adds that women are looking for better quality fashion that will last, investing in classic pieces that can be updated and customised to the latest trends.According to a survey by Grazia magazine, although nearly three-quarters of women are worried about the credit crunch affecting their lifestyle, 83 per cent are still buying clothes, accessories and beauty products at least once a week, which is two per cent more than half a year ago.(c) 2007 Adfero Ltd.
