In 1955 Avon established the Avon Foundation, to improve the lives of women and their families. Now more than 50 years on, the Avon Foundation is a public charity that brings this mission to life through two key areas of focus: breast cancer and domestic violence. From an initial $400 scholarship in 1955, Avon's charitable work has expanded globally and has now exceeded $725 million raised and awarded worldwide.

Following the launch of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade here in the UK in 1992, the foundation adopted the Crusade as the campaign to be used across the Avon world. The Crusade is now in over 50 Avon countries!

Oscar-winning actress, Reese Witherspoon was announced as Avon's first ever Global Ambassador in 2007. In this newly-established role, Reese serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation, focusing on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief initiatives. She is also the spokeswoman for Avon's beauty brands and Sales Representatives.

Reese works with the Avon Foundation to raise awareness for the Foundation's programs in the areas of breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief.
